The design and construction of the Set for the Tempest took over 200 hours. The design drew inspiration from Maurice Sendak’s ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ and other children’s literature. Prospero the chief protagonist and powerful sorcerer, uses his supernatural powers to see all on the island.

This scary, magical, dreamlike effect was conveyed with a soft set where all the elements were sewn. A special feature was a menagerie of stuffed animals whose LED eyes were powered in blackouts to create a nocturnal zoo.
